Test Geek instructors are the most
    qualified, well-trained and effective
    tutors in the industry.

The single biggest factor in tutoring quality is instructor quality.

Our instructors make us who we are. We firmly believe the instructor has the greatest impact on student improvement, so we spend a lot of time finding, recruiting and training the brightest instructors available. We pay them more than normal, train them more than normal and are far more selective than normal in the hiring process. We do all of this so that you can be certain the tutor we match with your student is going to surpass your expectations in every way.

Great SAT and ACT tutors have to bring a lot to the table. First, they need to be experts on the tests themselves. Some large prep companies regularly place job ads advertising that they will hire instructors who have scored as low as the 90th or 92nd percentile. That simply isn't good enough. If your student's math teacher at school was only better at math than 9 out of 10 high school students, he or she wouldn't be qualified to teach math. The instructor should be the expert in the room. That's why we require our instructors to have a 99th percentile score on the test they teach -- the highest standard in the industry. This sort of mastery produces a lot of benefits in the classroom, and it means the instructor has the sort of understanding of content that allows him or her to teach the test with expertise.

Being great at the test isn't enough, though. A great tutor needs more than that. We put our prospective hires through an incredibly rigorous audition process. We make them teach us stuff one-on-one, teach us stuff on the stop with no preparation and teach us stuff in a classroom. We ask them unexpected questions and watch they way they present information and create an atmosphere that produces a better learning experience for the student.

The instructors who make the cut are then thoroughly trained in the Test Geek teaching philosophy. We highly value the Socratic Method, which involves the teacher asking questions that will help lead the student to the answer. We prioritize this method because it brings out the same skills that are tested on the SAT and ACT. We train our instructors on how to create lively, interactive classroom and private tutoring experiences that foster learning and ensure the student is engaged. At the end of it all, we observe our new instructors in their first few sessions and provide critical feedback to help them hone their craft.

This process produces instructors that are simply unparalled. It also produces instructors who can help your student get the biggest score improvement possible, which is the only report card we care about.
